Nicole Teel, LPC, LAC is a faculty Substance Use Behavioral Health Provider at Sheridan Health Services, a nurse-managed Federally Qualified Health Center. Nicole works with patients individually, collaborates with providers for patients receiving MAT, and precepts counseling and social work graduate students. Nicole started her behavioral health career working in a youth residential treatment center and as a counselor for DUI offenders. She then went on to teach General Psychology 102 while also working in youth substance use prevention as a health educator.
Most recently Nicole was a Behavioral Health Provider working exclusively with high medical complexity Medicaid patients experiencing Substance Use Disorders and/or Severe Persistent Mental Illness. Nicole has extensive experience working in integrated healthcare settings and in medical care coordination. She has also provided clinical supervision for Licensed Addiction Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor candidates for the last 3 years.
Confirming her commitment to cultural responsiveness, in 2010 Nicole completed an immersion program in Ensenada, Mexico. Her passion lies in assisting underserved populations achieve connection, help, and services they need and deserve for a better quality of life.
