Scott Schmidt is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive training and experience treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan and across practice settings, from hospitals to outpatient clinics. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington where he was a national champion in rowing and a Chuck Holtz Memorial Scholar. He completed his graduate education at the University of Pennsylvania and his training at Presbyterian Hospital and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. While at the University of Pennsylvania he was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar and member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.

He is a Distinguished Graduate from Officer Training School and a United States Air Force and F. Edward Hebert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholar. During his military career he provided patient care at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Buckley Air Force Base, and Evans Army Hospital. As faculty at the University of Colorado Schools of Medicine and Nursing, Scott provided care to pediatric patients at Children's Hospital Colorado.

Scott has extensive experience as a researcher with the University of Washington School of Medicine, the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles.
As a volunteer with a disaster relief organization, Team Rubicon, Scott deployed to serve and provide medical care to communities in Puerto Rico and Houston who were impacted by the hurricanes of 2017. He is a lifetime member of the National Eagle Scout Association and is currently nationally recognized as a Jonas-Blaustein Scholar.
