Susan Bonini, Ed.D, MSN, RN, Assistant Professor earned her associate's and bachelor's degree from the Quinnipiac University, her master's of nursing from the Yale University School of Nursing and her Ed.D from the University of Colorado, School of Education and Human Development. As program coordinator of the Integrated Nursing Pathway (INP) program, she is responsible for the facilitation and oversight of the INP program direction in collaboration with the community college partners, curriculum discussions and serves as faculty advisor for students enrolled in the INP program. She has collaborated with local community colleges to grow the program to include 3 community colleges and sixty students.
She has a practice background in medical/surgical nursing and many years in critical care. She worked for many years at the University of Colorado Hospital as a clinical nurse educator and then in various leadership positions until she transitioned to the College of Nursing in 2011.
She has published articles and book chapters on topics including patient care issues effecting practice and the INP program. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau. Her clinical practice at Porter Hospital is focused on providing guidance of quality improvement initiatives. One initiative included the development and sustainability of the Behavioral Emergence Response Team (BERT).
