Julie joined the College of Nursing as an Instructor in 2014. She earned her BSN from the University of California, Los Angeles and her MSN from the University of Colorado College of Nursing.
Julie’s areas of nursing practice have primarily concentrated on community health, in both inner city and rural settings, and pediatric primary care, as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP). In her clinical teaching, she has focused on first-hand experiential learning that highlights compassion and the needs of underserved children and families.
Prior to joining the college, Julie worked at Sheridan Health Services in Denver, CO as both a CPNP and community health nursing clinical instructor. She has also served as a pediatric nurse practitioner in several other Denver-area locations, including Rocky Mountain Youth and Metro Community Provider Network.
As a community health nurse, Julie worked in both Albany, NY and Jefferson County, CO. She has regularly volunteered at several local organizations, including the Comitis Crisis Center in Aurora, CO and Colfax Community Network, as well as other family-centered charities. Julie has lived in Colorado since 1987 and has two grown children.
