Dr. Carmen Stephens completed a BSN at the University of NE, College of Nursing. Her DNP in organizational leadership with an emphasis in public health was completed through the University of KS, College of Nursing. She completed a Gerontology Traineeship with the Langdon Center on Aging in 2015-16 focusing on fall prevention in long term care for persons 65 and over through intentional staff communication. Additionally, Dr. Stephens completed a Masters of Science degree in Family Life Education and obtained national certification as a Family Life Educator in 2009 through the National Council on Family Relations.
Acute care medical-surgical nursing has been the focus of her nursing career including diabetic research, ICU, flight nursing and med-surg float. She has also worked In the community as a school nurse, case manager and behavioral health coordinator. She now enjoys sharing this eclectic work experience through pre-licensure nursing education.
Dr. Stephens holds memberships in ANA; Colorado Nurse Association; Sigma Theta Tau; and APHA. She enjoys walking the many open space trails in CO and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
