Nursing PhD Admission Requirements

All PhD applicants are asked to respond to the following essay questions below. Your completed essay can be uploaded into the “Documents” section of your NursingCAS application.

1. Discuss your current area(s) of research interests and goals. Be as specific as possible, about topics, content, variables of interest. Identify your selected area of doctoral focus related to your topic (Health Care Systems Research, Caring Science or Biobehavioral Sciences). Please identify any faculty members with whom you would like to work in support of your response.
2. What factors led you to pursue doctoral study at the University of Colorado College of Nursing at this point in your career? Can you make the commitment to pursue doctoral study in a program that combines on-line courses with on-ground intensives?
3. What are your short and long term career goals? How will doctoral study enhance these goals?
