Catherine Beckel, LCSW (she/her/hers) is faculty at the University of Colorado College of Nursing's clinic practice site CU-Sheridan Health Services (SHS) in the Family Health Clinic. In her role as a behavioral health provider, Catherine offers brief individual counseling in an integrated care setting for older adolescents and adults. Her passions include increasing access to behavioral healthcare for underserved populations and working collaboratively to provide whole person care. Other areas of interest include strengthening social justice, trauma informed, and culturally responsive practices.

Catherine earned B.A.s in Criminology and International Studies from the University of Denver and a Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has experience working as a therapist, advocate, and case manager supporting clients in several settings, including community mental health, integrated care, a refugee and asylee program, and a homeless shelter. Catherine completed her concentration year clinical internship at CU-SHS during her Master of Social Work education and returned to the clinic a few years later.
