• Mary Beth Makic, PhD, RN, CCNS, CCRN, FAAN, FNAP, FCNS, was recently named to the National Advisory Council (NAC) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The organization provides advice to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
• Teresa Connolly, PhD, RN, ACNS, CNRN, was honored by the CU System with an Open Educational Resources (OER) Champion Award. Connolly was honored for creating nursing OER materials. She is also a 2024 recipient of funding for a collaborative grant for the CU Nursing Fort Lewis College Collaborative, which will create a BS in Nursing degree with zero textbook costs to students.
• Krista Estes, DNP, FNP-BC, and Michele Wolf, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC have been appointed to committee leadership positions within the National Association of Family Nurse Practitioners (NAFNP).  
  
• Dr. Laura Rosenthal, DNP, ACNP, FAANP, will serve as CU Nursing’s Sr. Assistant Dean of Academic Operations. She will continue as the Assistant Dean of DNP Programs until a replacement is named.
• Dr. Fara Bowler, DNP, APRN, CHSE, will become CU Nursing’s inaugural Assistant Dean of Clinical Simulation, and will continue working with both our undergraduate and graduate placement teams in her role as Sr. Director of Clinical Partnerships and Placements.
