CU Nursing baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral students learn with state-of-the art technology and advanced learning methods on the world-class Anschutz Medical Campus. The offerings include traditional, online and accelerated programs and continuing education.     Bachelors-Card

    Bachelor's Programs

    We have four types of bachelor’s programs: a traditional BS program, accelerated pathway program, an online BS for current AAS students or registered nurses, and an integrated nursing pathway program that works with area community colleges.

    Master's Program

    The Master of Science program is designed to prepare nurses for both direct and indirect care roles. Selection of an advanced practice specialty field is required.

    Doctor of Nursing Practice

    Clinical practice-oriented program for those who hold a Master of Science in Nursing and want to become a Doctor of Nursing Practice to improve clinical care delivery and patient outcomes.

    Nursing PhD

    A research degree for those who hold a Master of Science in Nursing and want to become nurse scientists. Selection of an advanced practice specialty field is required.

    Ranked #2 in the Nation

    For our 2020 FNP, Informatics and Leadership MSN online degree programs. Best Health Degrees’ editors singled CU Nursing out for its “rarely offered” and “highly sought after” Health Informatics concentration and “cutting-edge” research. Editors weigh cost, graduation rate, job placement, salary potential and student satisfaction.

    Sean Reed

    Inducted as a Fellow into the 2021 Clinical Nurse Specialist Institute (CNSI)

    CU Nursing Professor Dr. Sean Reed was recently recognized for his distinguished contributions to the clinical nurse specialist profession and was inducted as a Fellow into the 2021 Clinical Nurse Specialist Institute (CNSI).

    CU Nursing Students Present at NACNS Conference

    Four CU Nursing students in the Nursing Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist master’s program presented during the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) annual conference. They addressed commonly encountered problems in critical care settings.

    An interview with Dixie Melton, APRN (MS ’88, FNP ’97), who learned leadership from CU Nursing professors at a time when the professors traveled to students in Durango. Her degrees ultimately led her to operating her own practice.
