Heather took an interest in helping others from an early age. She started her career in international education. While living and working abroad in Cuenca, Ecuador, she saw the need to educate others about health and health care. With this she got her BSN from Regis University in Denver and started her fulfilling journey as a nurse.

She worked on the Solid Organ Transplant unit at University of Colorado for 5 years and then switched her focus to Women's Health. She worked many years in Labor, Delivery and Postpartum care. During this time, she enjoyed working with the diverse patient population at University of Colorado Hospital while working alongside the University's wonderful midwives. She was inspired by the personalized and impactful care the midwives provided. She completed her MS in Nursing from University of Colorado Anschutz in 2018 and became a Certified Nurse-Midwife. She worked for 2 years at a small OB/GYN practice at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, where she provided individualized, comprehensive midwifery care. In 2021 she joined the University Nurse-Midwives where she continues to provide personalized care to a diverse population of women and their families. She enjoys helping women in all stages of life to understand their own health, bodies and choices.
