Dr. Jessica Anderson is on a mission to make childbirth safer and more supportive for every mother. As Professor and Associate Dean of Clinical and Community Affairs at the University of Colorado College of Nursing, she's dedicated her career to tackling maternal mortality and improving birth experiences.
Dr. Anderson believes every woman deserves compassionate, evidence-based care during one of life's most vulnerable moments. Her work spans from advocating for policy changes to developing innovative pain management options like nitrous oxide during labor. She's particularly passionate about expanding access to midwifery care and doula services—approaches that put mothers at the center of their experience.
Her national recognition includes the American Academy of Nursing Edge Runner Award and the Colorado Nurses Association Nightingale Luminary Award. She collaborates with organizations like the March of Dimes and the Colorado Department of Public Health to shape maternal healthcare policy.
Whether mentoring future nurse-midwives or advocating for mothers in boardrooms, Dr. Anderson combines clinical expertise with genuine compassion to create lasting change in women's healthcare.
