Carly Rice, MSN, CNM is a newly certified nurse midwife who graduated from Frontier Nursing University in 2025. Prior to completing her midwifery training, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse and completed her clinical midwifery education at Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado. During her training, Carly also continued working part-time as a labor and delivery nurse at Longs Peak Hospital, making her a familiar face to many of our patients.

Carly is deeply passionate about birth work and comprehensive women’s health care. She is committed to evidence-based practice and values informed, shared decision-making, with a strong emphasis on patient autonomy and individualized care. She is excited to serve and support the Longmont and Boulder communities throughout all stages of pregnancy and beyond.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Carly earned her nursing degree from the University of Kentucky (Go Cats!) before relocating to Colorado in 2019. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her adopted dogs and her partner, exploring Colorado through hiking and travel, and slowing down at home with gardening, audiobooks, and podcasts. She also loves cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, with a particular interest in preparing nourishing, whole foods that support overall health and hormonal balance. This curiosity reflects her broader approach to midwifery care; one that values listening to the body, honoring its natural rhythms, and supporting wellness through thoughtful, sustainable choices both in and out of the clinical setting.
