Dr. Elias Provencio-Vasquez has transformed healthcare over four decades, rising from a community college student to Dean of the University of Colorado College of Nursing. He embodies the true spirit of perseverance and passion. He's not just an educator – he's a pioneering researcher, a compassionate clinician, and a national leader who has made significant contributions to healthcare for at-risk women and their families. His bilingual expertise has enabled groundbreaking CDC and NIH-funded research projects nationwide.
Under his leadership, the University of Colorado College of Nursing has become Colorado's top nursing program, demonstrating how one passionate individual can create meaningful change in healthcare.
Office of the Dean
As the chief academic and administrative officer of the college, Dean Provencio-Vasquez is responsible for serving as an advocate and effective spokesperson while managing all aspects of the college’s education programs, research and extramural activities, clinical care programs, community service, and administration.
