Dr. Elias Provencio-Vasquez began his journey in healthcare as a community college student. Today, he leads one of the most respected nursing programs in the country. Over four decades, Dr. Provencio-Vasquez has worn many hats as a researcher, clinician, educator, and advocate. His work has centered on improving health outcomes for at-risk women and families, with bilingual expertise that has opened doors to CDC- and NIH-funded research across the nation.
As Dean, he has guided the University of Colorado Anschutz College of Nursing to its standing as Colorado's top nursing program, a reflection of his belief that great care starts with great education.
Dean Provencio-Vasquez oversees all aspects of college life, from academic programs and research to clinical care, community partnerships, and day-to-day operations. He serves as the college's chief advocate, both on campus and beyond.
Supporting that work is a dedicated administrative team committed to advancing the college's academic, research, and clinical missions.
