Patrick Luna is a Senior Instructor of Clinical Teaching at the University of Colorado College of Nursing who instructs nursing students in their undergraduate program.
Patrick believes that preparing nursing students for the realities of clinical practice begins with instilling awareness of the client experience and self-reflection of their role in achieving patient-centered care outcomes.
Patrick has supported the foundational development of nursing students and entry-level nurses through his roles as a clinical instructor, faculty member, lecturer, and volunteer advocate. Patrick works closely with community organizations to achieve goals aimed at supporting bedside nursing providers and fostering inclusive nursing cultures.
Patrick is a registered nurse, certified in emergency nursing with a background as a firefighter/paramedic. He currently has a bedside practice at University of Colorado Hospital assigned to the surgical/trauma ICU.
Patrick holds a master’s degree in nursing education from the University of Texas and is currently applying to a PhD program at the University of Colorado.
