Kathy Shaw joined the University of Colorado Anschutz College of Nursing in 2011. With a specialty in Community Health Nursing and an interest in reducing disparities in health and healthcare access, she has over 30 years’ experience in diverse settings which include home health, diabetes self-management education, nonprofit clinics, community health clinics, college health, and older adult research.
Dr. Shaw is a dedicated educator with teaching experience spanning over 2 decades. including baccalaureate and graduate-level nursing education, face-to-face, online, and stimulated learning environments. She currently teaches in the DNP and MS programs. In addition, she enjoys mentoring students and has co-authored student-led publications and presentations aimed to advance nursing knowledge.
Dr. Shaw maintains membership in the American Nurses Association, Colorado Nurses Association, and the American Public Health Association Public Health Nursing section
