Sarah Stalder is an advanced practice family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She joined the CU College of Nursing faculty in January 2017. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Creighton University. Prior to joining the College of Nursing, Sarah worked in the specialties of Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant. While serving the needs of cancer patients, she realized the importance of caring for the mental health needs of patients in addition to treating their physical ailments.
Sarah’s passion for holistic and integrated care inspired her to seek her master’s degree in mental health nursing. She is thrilled to be a part of the ACE Grant as the goal of the grant aligns with her desire to enhance the integration of behavioral health into primary care. Sarah is delighted to work as a PMHNP alongside the team at Sheridan Health Services in serving the mental health needs of clients. She believes in delivering culturally competent and patient centered care that is rooted in evidence-based practice.
Sarah is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the American Psychiatric Nurse Association (APNA), American Nurses Association, and the Neuroscience Education Institute. She was one of the recipients of the University of Colorado Fellows Scholarship and received nursing excellence awards from University of Colorado Hospital. Sarah was a Nightingale Finalist in 2012 and one of the keynote speakers at the Nightingale Awards Banquet in 2013.
