One of six deans at the Anschutz Medical Campus, the CU College of Nurs​ing Dean​ is the chief academic and administrative officer of the college. Responsible for serving as an advocate and effective spokesperson for the college, the dean manages all
aspects of the college’s education programs, research and extramural activities, clinical care programs, community service and administration.
The administrative teams of the College of Nursing strive to effectively and efficiently support the academic, research and clinical mission of the college. These teams include Marketing and Communications, Budget and Finance, Information Technology, Continuing Education, Human Resources and Facilities, Faculty Affairs and Support.

Dr. Provencio-Vasquez is a highly experienced nurse educator, eminent researcher and proven administrator. With over 40 years of health care experience, he contributes a tremendous amount of knowledge to the College of Nursing both as a dean and a professor.
Dr. Provencio-Vasquez has served as a clinical nurse, nurse researcher, nurse educator, school administrator and pediatric neonatal nurse practitioner. His former position as Dean of the Nursing School at the University of Texas-El Paso provides him with unique qualifications for his new role as the 11th Dean of the University of Colorado College of Nursing.
The Budget and Finance team supports the College by providing oversight and guidance to the Faculty and Staff on fiscal and budgetary matters. The team is primarily responsible for preparing the annual budget and all financial reports. Overall, providing assistance to the college to ensure that financial resources are effectively and efficiently used to maximize the academic, research and clinical missions.
The Human Resources team supports recruitment, compensation and payroll, employee relations, professional development, organizational development, and performance management to effectively and efficiently support the academic, research and clinical mission of the college. The Facilities Coordinator manages the facilities needs within the main offices of CU College of Nursing, located within the Education 2 North building.
The College of Nursing Marketing and Communications team is dedicated to providing outstanding marketing and communications support to the college, its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Our goal is to effectively develop and manage the overall strategic marketing initiatives of the College, as well as targeted initiatives for our individual programs and departments. Through our internal and public-facing communications efforts and publications, we will help to tell our story of the College of Nursing while building upon our brand and sense of community.
The Information Technology team is dedicated and driven to provide effective technology solutions, quality service and support to effectively and efficiently support the academic, research and clinical missions of the College of Nursing.
The Continuing Education team develops and manages the continuing nursing education offerings within the College of Nursing.
The Faculty Affairs and Support team manages the administrative processes associated with faculty promotion and tenure, faculty recruitment, provides administrative support to four of the six faculty standing committees as well as providing basic administrative support to the faculty of the College of Nursing. This team also staffs the Faculty Support Desk, located in Education 2 North, on the 4th floor, Rm. 4237.
