Dr. Armstrong has been a dedicated nurse since 2016, specializing in labor and delivery. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Concordia University Texas in Austin, TX, and continued her studies there to earn a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on nursing education in 2018. Most recently in 2023, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at The University of Texas at Austin, where her scholarly work concentrated on enhancing inclusivity in healthcare and nursing academia for transgender and non-binary individuals.

A native Texan with deep roots — 9th generation — Dr. Armstrong spent some of her childhood living in California, Colorado, and Oklahoma before returning to Texas in 1987. In September 2024, she relocated to Aurora, CO, with her husband and their two children, Miles (18) and Lily (14). Her oldest daughter, Kalliey (27), lives in Denton, TX, with her husband and daughter, and they plan to move to the Denver area in January 2025. The family also includes two beloved pets: Lucas, their dog, and Mesa, their cat.

Dr. Armstrong enjoys spending quality moments with her family, crafting, reading, and exploring the beautiful landscapes of Colorado. She is passionate about nursing education and looks forward to pursuing scholarship opportunities focused on inclusivity in healthcare and education at CU Anschutz.
