Kathleen Reutter’s introduction to birth work began in 2007 in a maternity clinic in Mali, West Africa where she conducted a research project. Since then she has had the honor of working in a variety of health care settings across the U.S., including primary care clinics, reproductive health clinics, birth centers, and hospitals. She graduated from the University of California, San Francisco in 2018 as a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
Prior to joining University Nurse-Midwives, Kathleen worked as a midwife at a freestanding birth center in Boulder. In addition to her role at UNM, she also cares for patients at a sexual health clinic in Denver. Kathleen believes in meeting patients where they are. She is deeply committed to reproductive justice, evidence-based practice, and honoring her patients’ own knowledge about their bodies.
Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys running, cooking, and listening to podcasts, along with spending time with family and friends, and her two cats.
