COVID-19 Guidance and Protocols

Last Update: October 4, 2022

All CU College of Nursing students are required to stay informed of the latest guidance and policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This applies to all university and college-related information.

Self-reporting is in place for those who have symptoms or test positive for COVID-19. Those who may have been exposed do not need to self-report but should follow CDC guidelines (currently, wearing a mask around others for 10 days and testing 5 days after exposure). Students diagnosed with COVID or with COVID symptoms must take the following steps:

  1. Self-report
  2. Notify appropriate faculty
    • DNP – Current course instructor and the faculty mentor if in their project phase.
    • Graduate – faculty, preceptor, advisor, Specialty Director, and the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs
    • Undergraduate Students – contact the clinical and course faculty.

Students who self-reported must have clearance from the Environment Health team which is sent by email indicating they are cleared to return to campus and clinical. The clearance email received should then be forwarded by the student to the appropriate course and clinical faculty.
