Students for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
Future Voices was formed in 2020 by a group of nursing students who wanted to create change within the College of Nursing. We serve the University of Colorado Anschutz Campus and are committed to fostering a space for students to collectively create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive College of Nursing. The organization accomplishes its mission by supporting DEI events, training, and initiatives across campus, creating open forums for students to discuss ideas and concerns surrounding our campus culture and curriculum. Furthermore, it connects with other campus groups to build community in the name of creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
We are delighted you are interested in becoming a member of Future Voices. Future Voices members are required to attend one monthly event, which may consist of a Zoom meeting or in-person gathering. Currently, Zoom meetings occur on the second Wednesday of each month from 4pm to 5pm. Please refer below to see our next Zoom meeting time or gatherings in person.
ENVEST events are lectures lead by leaders in our community that focus on a variety of topics to provide insight and empowerment to our members. These meetings have included discussions surrounding medication errors, sexual and reproductive health, as well as stigma and mental health.
For the most up-to-date news and events postings, please follow us on Instagram. Previous Envest events can be viewed on our YouTube channel.

Shashalee Sangster was researching CU Nursing and discovered a petition by Future Voices to induct Zipporah Parks Hammond into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame. Parks Hammond was CU Nursing’s first Black nursing student and the only Black student in her cohort.
