Traditional Pathway Program Admission Requirements

Admission to the University of Colorado College of Nursing bachelor of science program is highly competitive. Selection is determined using our holistic review process which includes a review of all required documents, an admission interview if selected, and participation in our spontaneous writing activity.

Applications to CU Nursing are only accepted via the Nursing Centralized Application Service (NursingCAS). Only applications that are marked as ‘verified’ on or before the application deadline will be considered for review. Please note that only courses reported on transcripts as of the application deadline will be reviewed for admissions consideration. Grades that post after the application deadline are not considered in the admissions process.

Admissions Requirements and Application Process

A minimum 3.0 prerequisite GPA is required. This prerequisite GPA is created using the highest-grade attempts reported on the transcripts at the time of application.

Due to the competitive nature of our programs, we strongly suggest a minimum overall and Science GPA of 3.0 or higher. Note that the overall GPA calculation includes all previous course attempts from regionally accredited institutions, regardless of the year courses were completed. Grade forgiveness and repeat/delete policies are not honored.
