Stacey Seggelke, DNP, APRN, ACNS-BC joined the College of Nursing faculty in 2021. Dr. Seggelke earned her Bachelor of Nursing (BSN), Master of Science (MS), and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Colorado College of Nursing. Stacey’s doctoral project was: Improving Blood Glucose Control in Non-Critically Ill Hospitalized Adults Taking Insulin by Reducing Repeat Hyperglycemic Episodes: A Quality Improvement Project. As an Assistant Professor with the College of Nursing, she teaches primarily in the Graduate programs of Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AG-CNS) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Her nursing experience has included specialty areas of cardiac nursing, diabetes education, and inpatient diabetes care. Dr. Seggelke assisted with the development of the inpatient Glucose Management Team at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital. She continues her clinical work in inpatient diabetes management as an Assistant Professor with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. From this clinical work, she was awarded membership in The Expert Council for Clinical Excellence and Leadership (EXCCEL) for the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Seggelke’s professional interests include inpatient management of diabetes across all areas, emergency management of hyperglycemia, and use of advanced diabetes technologies in the hospital setting. She has published several peer-reviewed articles on this topic and has spoken at local, national and international meetings on inpatient diabetes care. Dr. Seggelke has also contributed to references books on diabetes.

Dr. Seggelke also has a passion for diabetes management in underserved populations and currently serves of the clinical director of the Diabetes Specialty night at the DAWN clinic, a student run free clinic dedicated to assisting the underserved population of Aurora, Colorado.
