Lauren was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and attended Baylor University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2006. She then worked as an RN in a variety of settings throughout Colorado, primarily in Labor & Delivery.
While providing earthquake relief care in Haiti, Lauren had the privilege of serving women alongside midwives, and not only realized her passion for birth, but also for all women having the ability to access high quality midwifery care. This experience led Lauren to pursue midwifery, receiving her MSN from the University of Colorado in 2014. Upon graduation she began practicing full scope midwifery with Rose Midwifery in Denver, where she worked for 4 years, and joined the University Nurse Midwives in 2019.
Lauren remains passionate about providing compassionate care to a diverse and underserved population as well as empowering women to make personalized, well-informed health care decisions. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and snowboarding with her spouse and 3 children.
