Nicole Brodrick is an advanced practice psychiatric registered nurse with more than twelve years of clinical experience dealing with a variety of adult aggregates with mental health concerns. She joined the College of Nursing faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2014. Brodrick has precepted graduate nursing students, taught undergraduate nursing students in a psychiatric clinical rotation, and lectured to graduate psychiatric nurse practitioner students. She is focused on delivering culturally competent care that is patient focused and founded on evidenced based practice, as well as improving undergraduate nursing curricula to include assessment and treatment of tobacco dependence across various patient populations. She was involved with an ROI intraprofessional grant with UCSF on integrating tobacco education within graduate nursing curriculum.

Brodrick has been a clinical faculty member at Colorado State University – Pueblo and the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. She has also served as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and psychiatric clinical nurse specialist at several mental health clinics and hospitals in Minnesota, where she earned her DNP and MS at the University of Minnesota. Brodrick has been a member of the American Psychiatric Nurse Association (APNA) since 1999 and serves on the APNA Board of Directors for Colorado and the APNA Tobacco Council. APNA awarded her as a clinical scholar in 2010 and Smoking Cessation Champion in 2014.
